VCBW Tenth Anniversary Ale Review
Every Spring the Vancouver craft beer community gets together at a brewery chosen by the VCBW team. The collaboration started in 2011 with partial proceeds going to a chosen charity with this year being the BC Hospitality Foundation.
This year’s beer is simply called ’10’. The artwork that is seen on the tall can labels as well as posters and social media is by Victoria artist Luke Ramsey ( Luke Ramsey Studios) . Take a look at some of the details and you will see ten memories of VCBW’s ten years embedded!
While more than 30 breweries showed up on collaboration day held this year at Four Winds Brewing in Delta, the recipe development and brewing was by award winning Four Winds, Dageraad and Powell St- all three breweries known for their Belgian style ale. The style chosen was a Belgian Table Beer with the use of SacchTrois yeast – but with a West Coast twist- dry hopped with Sabro and Enigma giving this light bodied ale some tropical and stone fruit aromas and flavours.
The beer pours light in colour, body and carbonation but it is a perfect summer sipper at only 4.2 %, juicy, light and citrusy and thirst quenching.
