Welcoming over 65 breweries in 2018, Fest of Ale lines up to be another cracker
The Okanagan Fest of Ale rolls back into Penticton, BC April 13th and 14th 2018 and it’s already shaping up to be another great year for the annual beer festival.
Fest of Ale is one of the longest running beer festivals in the Pacific Northwest and helps to kick-off beer festival season in British Columbia. With 65 breweries attending from across the province and over 175 beers available to try, this year is sure to offer guests something exciting interesting, and new to discover.
Penticton is now solidly known as a craft beer destination with four breweries now in operation – all four of which will be represented at this year’s festival.
Participating breweries are always eager to be part of the judging by craft beer enthusiasts and beer media to share in the spoils of the awards given out each year. There are 11 new breweries attending the festival in 2018 that will all be vying to give festival veterans a run for their money.
This year, festival organizers partnered with local hoteliers to offer ‘Sip and Stay Getaways’ – festival and hotel packages offered at special rates that come with weekend festival passes for two. Check out some of the options online to see the hotel packages available.
As always this year the Okanagan Fest of Ale society will donate the proceeds of the festival to community charities in Penticton and around the Okanagan. Last year marked one of the largest disbursements by the society in its history with $60,000 donated to local organizations. Since its inception, the society has donated over $600,000!
