Old Yale Brewing Co. – Stone Fruit Hibiscus Saison Review
Old Yale Brewing has added to their Trailblazer line of beers with their Stone Fruit Hibiscus Saison. This beer comes in at 6.0% alcohol and was brewed using Lemondrop hops. From the 650 ml bottle the beer is a cloudy orange colour with a finger and a half worth of head. The aroma is light with apricot-fruit character and a touch of herbal notes. The strongest element of the aroma is the Saison yeast and wheat content though. The flavour too is mellow with the wheat and saison yeast coming through and leading into a mellow apricot flavour. The Hibiscus is hidden behind the other flavours. This is a mellow saison that is easy drinking and has a subtle fruit flavour.
