Partake Brewing – Non-Alcoholic IPA Review
While originally from Toronto, Ontario, Partake has entered the BC marketing through contract brewing at Factory Brewing Co. As the first non-alcoholic craft beer to hit market there has been some (extended) anticipation for this beer. Labelled at 0.3% alcohol the beer pours into the glass with two full fingers of head which settles quickly leaving a very slight amount of lacing behind on the glass. The aroma is very hoppy with classic northwest pine, citrus and grapefruit tones that come through in strength. On the nose, without knowing any better you may just thing that this was nearer to a standard beer. Tasting the beer it is a bit further away than the aroma forecast. The hop character comes through in a pleasant, lightly bitter, piney way. The body is quite thin though and the flavour lacks malt character that is expected. One can’t shut the brew down completely because of this. It is after all 0.3% alcohol. Mouthfeel and malt character will inherently take a hit in such a scenario. As a beer, it doesn’t score well outside of the pleasant hop tones but as a non-alc option it is well above the competition. Partake’s IPA rises well above the competition to give a pleasant, hoppy and enjoyable option in the designated driver section of the beer world.
Alcohol – 0.3%

So where can we buy this IPA in BC?
Yeah.. where!?
Seriously … where?
Market on Yates, London Drugs, Save on Foods, WholeFoods and free shipping available from brewery too. Love the IPA.
Whole foods sells in BC, bought today in Victoria
I’ve been an IPA snob for over a decade and in my opinion the Partake IPA is better than many IPA’s on the market today.
As a refreshing drink it should have a place in every beer fridge.
A must for anyone who likes beer and is concerned about their health.
