Faculty Brewing 241 Minweizen Review Faculty Brewing Co. – 241 Minzeweizen Review

The first thing you may ask when it comes to the Faculty 241 Minzweizen is, what the heck is a Minzweizen. Well, here it is a wheat ale that is infused with peppermint tea. Pouring this beer from the bomber bottle it is a hazy golden-straw colour with three-plus fingers of dense and lightly lacing head. The aroma is a somewhat odd combination of banana, clove, wheat and peppermint. Somehow it comes across as  being pleasant but is still rather odd. Tasting the beer, the mint character takes charge with a minty-fresh flavour right off the bat. This masks much of the more typical flavours but does allow for some banana esters to emerge later on along side the wheat character and mouthfeel. Peppermint isn’t the most common ingredient in beer and definitely not one that would usually mix with banana flavours but it comes across as an overall pleasant flavour combination despite being rather peculiar in nature.
