Townsite Brewing & Gladstone Brewing – Algerine Collaboration No. 1 Review
Townsite Brewing has launched a new collaboration series and the first brew is a Belgian Style Ale brewed with Brett. This beer is a partnership between Townsite Brewing and Gladstone Brewing. From the bomber bottle the beer pours a colour of cloudy straw and is topped with two fingers of lightly lacing head. The aroma is of orange, coriander, light pepper and a light touch of wet straw from the Brett. While it isn’t labelled the beer most closely resembles a Witbier with an added dose of Brett funk. The flavour too has a wheat character that builds with coriander, orange, pepper and that well known earthy, brett funk. The brett is subtle though leaving the more traditional witbier character to come through in strength. This if a very enjoyable beer that is a slight twist on a classic Belgian style.
