Trading Post Brewing Co. – West Coast IPA Review
In conjunction with the One20 Public House the Trading Post Brewing Company has brewed a classic West Coast IPA using Columbus, Chinook, Citra, Galaxy and Simcoe Hops. At 6.3% alcohol and 61 IBUs this beer pours from the bomber bottle a cloudy golden colour with nearly two fingers of lightly lacing head. The aroma is very fruity with pineapple, grapefruit and mango tones coming through in spades for a very fruit-forward hop character. Tasting the beer it has a fairly light body, rich fruity hop flavour and a balanced but strong bitterness that grows at the back of the tongue. This is a new-age IPA with fruit forward hop varietals that give a punch of tropical flavour. The combination of using 6 different hops gives more complexity to the hop flavour than many similar beers though. Trading post has brewed a big flavoured, tropical fruit flavoured IPA that will surely be a local favourite for the Langley based craft brewery.
