Ravens Brewing Co. – IPA Review
At long last, Ravens Brewing in Abbotsford has released an IPA that they are looking to keep as part of their core lineup. The beer pours from the bomber bottle a cloudy copper colour with one finger of dense, lasting head that leaves behind lots of lacing on the glass. The aroma is of pine resin, stone fruit, pineapple, and citrus with some slight caramel and buscuit tones coming through under the hops. The flavour is initially citrus with juicy tropical fruit, followed by bitterness that fades into some bready malt tones and a resiny finish. The body is even and balanced in spite of the high bitterness.

They have done a good job with this one. It is exciting to finally see a new wave of IPA’s in BC. The style had been so undeserved for so long.
Agreed, it seems the pendulum is starting to swing back in the IPA direction! I’m happy that’s happening and looking forward to a bunch of new IPAs coming our way.
