Dageraad Brewing Co. – Lake City Farmhouse Ale Review
Burnaby’s Dageraad Brewing has brewed up a spiced Farmhouse Ale calle dthe Lake City. From the bomber bottle this 5.2% alcohol beer pours a colour of gold with a heavy cloudiness. Two fingers of head settles fairly quickly while giving off strong notes of wheat coriander and orange peel-citrus tones. The flavour is quite unique. An effervescence kicks things off while the coriander and citrus spice take hold early on. A blend of sour and sweet notes give strong contrast in the mid section while a bigger than expected bitterness finishes things off. This is by no means a typical farmhouse ale and give a unique take on the style. It is nevertheless very refreshing and has an interesting blend of sour and spice character.
