Parkside Brewery Opens for Business in Port Moody, BC’s New Brewery District
Parkside Brewery Opens Its Doors In Port Moody Next To Rocky Point Park
If you are trying to find the Parkside Brewery in Port Moody, look no further than next to the park. Situated across the street from Rocky Point Park between Moody Ales and Yellow Dob Brewing This is the highest density of craft breweries in BC. Parkside brings some weight into the ring with two familiar faces steering the ship. Industry veterans Vern Lambourne and Sam Payne teamed up on this project and have gathered some steam leading up to their opening.
The official opening date is June 8, 2016 and attendees can sample three beers right off the bat. If you can hold off a bit there are another two close behind. Starting off with a Pilsner, Pale Ale and an IPA the roster fits comfortably on the palates of BC craft beer fans. Coming up next is a Witbier and Spiced Wheat Beer. Sessionability and approachability seem to be a focus along with being delicious. The Pilsner is classic and delicious, the Pale Ale balanced and smooth and the IPA is a strong hit of bitterness with a malt backbone to back it up.
As great as the beer is, the location should be mentioned as well. The tasting room is massive with a combination of long tables, bar stools and suitingly, park benches. The AstroTurf is also laid out front for the patio to come. With a fairly large capacity this will surely be a summer destination for those from around and visiting Port Moody.
Sam and Vern, along with their team, have poured their hearts and souls into this brewery and it shows. The detail and commitment is unparalleled from the snooker table to the decorated walls, nothing is overlooked and everything appears to be perfect. Even the tasting flights are served on a miniature park bench. Try and not smile about that! Don’t take our word for it though, it is time to head on down to Port Moody’s Brewery Row and give Parkside a visit!
Your article mentions Moody Ales and Yellow Dog Brewing but does not mention Twin Sails Brewing next door to Yellow Dog. They also brew excellent Craft Beer.
Thanks for the comment. We mentioned that Parkside is between Yellow Dog and Moody Ales. This is nothing against Twin Sails, they are just on the other side of Yellow Dog. They do brew great beer!
[…] Last I’d heard about C&S was from Mike’s Craft Beer back in May and I’ll admit that I wasn’t really keeping up on the news. It turns out that they had a bit of a soft launch last week on the same day that Parkside Brewery opened in Port Moody. […]

Attention: Community Grant Chair and Members
I am writing on behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion, Port Moody Branch #119, to request your support for the upcoming Nov 11th Remembrance Day.
We, at the Port Moody Legion, are very proud of the efforts and respect that we put forth to honour our Veterans and their families on this very special day of Remembrance. Although we are currently closed for redevelopment, we must and shall continue the tradition to mark this very important day. Gratefully, the City of Port Moody has given us permission to hold our service, ceremony and reception at the Kyle Centre and Arts Centre this year.
The Community attendance on the street on the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month is historically over 4000 strong and growing every year.
Over 500 Cadets, Scouts, Girl Guides and Brownies join our Colour Party, Veterans, Legion member and our First Responders, to participate in the parade around the block to ultimately stop at the cenotaph for the official Act of Remembrance and Two-Minute Silence followed by the laying of the wreaths. We are extremely fortunate to have the world famous Simon Fraser Pipe and Drum Band parade every year; this being the 38th Anniversary of their attendance at our Nov 11th ceremony. We have the proud distinction of being the only Legion in Canada to present a 21-Gun Cannon salute, performed by the Seymour Artillery.
As we are closed for redevelopment and have no form of revenue; we are coming to our community neighbours and requesting your help in the form of a $1000.00 donation to put towards the food being served during our afternoon festivities being held at Kyle Centre. Alternately, you could provide product to this event. We will ensure that your participation in our Remembrance and celebration is gratefully noted in the form of table thank-you notes in the name of Parkside Brewery.
Let us take this opportunity to extend an invitation for you to attend our upcoming event for our Nov. 11th Act of Remembrance and ceremonies, on behalf of the Port Moody Legion, our Veterans and families and our Community.
We sincerely appreciate your taking the time to consider our request and we look forward to working together for this very worthy cause.
Lest We Forget
Respectfully yours,
Faye Johnson
President
Port Moody Legion #119
