Steel & Oak Titian Belgian Style Sour Review Steel & Oak Brewing Co. – Titian Belgian-Style Sour Ale Review

Steel and Oak has brewed a single batch beer called the Titian that comes from the latter half of the brewery’s name. In the Oak Aged series of beers this Belgian-Style Sour Ale is 7.5% alcohol that has aged for a full year before being released. Pouring the beer it has a colour of deep mahogany-cherry and is topped with one finger of dense head. From the beer comes an aroma of cherry and oak in a strong and sour fashion. This is a big and puckering sour but one with significant depth and flavour intensity. Tasting the beer the puckering nature of the aroma is contrasted with a rather smooth flavour. The sour tones are significant but an earthy and dry oak flavour calms the storm and mellows the ordeal. Deep cherry flavours and grape tones come through in the oak along side a deep and subdued sour character make this beer big and flavourful yet very drinkable.

Alcohol – 7.5%
