Powell Street Craft Brewery – Mosaic Sour Belgian Wheat Ale Review
In the Kettle Sour series of beers from the Powell Street Craft Brewery comes the Mosaic Sour Belgian W heat. Brewed with Mosaic hops this beer is sure to have big fruit tones in a refreshing and light sour manner. Pouring this beer it has a colour of golden- orange that is quite cloudy. Two fingers of head tops the glass and settles quickly and without a trace. Smelling this sour beer it has a tartness to it along side notes of mango, pineapple and passion fruit. The fruit forward nature of this beer’s smell is intoxicating. The first flavours that hit the tongue are wild with tropical fruit. This quickly settles into a light pineapple-sour flavour. The final flavours are all wheat with a lightness and light, lingering sourness. For a kettle soured beer the sharpness is rather low and the beer is balanced with delicious and flavourful tropical hop tones to make for a very refreshing beer.
