Tofino Brewing Co. – Tofino Lager Review

Very simply named the Tofino Brewing Company has released a beer called the Tofino Lager, and it is just that, a Lager. With a simple label of a vast ocean the bottle pours a beer that is a light golden-straw colour and is topped with a finger of light head that dissipates without leaving a trace. The Tofino Lager has an aroma of straw, malt and a light sweetness which masks a touch of citrus-hop bitterness on the nose. In the flavour, a nice malted base gives way for light tones of straw, citrus and a slight hop bitterness that adds a bit of extra body to the beer. The Tofino Lager quite smooth and light and is a great example of the Lager style. It is close to being the perfect beer for after a long day of surfing on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The only question is, why has it taken so long for Tofino Brewing Company to brew this beer?
