Steel & Oak Brewing Co. – Rye Lager Review
Labelled as being rustic, complex and refreshing the Rye Lager is a limited release brew from the Steel & Oak Brewing Company.Available in 650ml, bomber bottles when you pour this beer into a glass it shows its colour of amber-orange in a clouded brew. Two fingers of loose and lacing head tops the glass and gives a citrus-malt aroma that is fresh and light with a light honey-like sweetness. The Rye content gives a bit of a spice tone that ups the anti for the beer. The body is well carbonated and has a bigger than expected body for the light, 4.5% alcohol content. The beer remains light on the tongue though and a malty, lightly sweet flavour is paired with a citrus and rye kick that spices up the number. The Steel & Oak Rye Lager is both refreshing and flavourful in an easy drinking yet rather flavourful lager.
