Hearthstone Brewery – India Pale Ale Review
The Hearthstone Brewery’s first packaged release is their India Pale Ale which comes in tall 473ml cans. This simple yet sharply labelled can releases a beer that appears in the glass as a light golden colour topped with three fingers of loose and lacing head. From the IPA comes a stronly hopped aroma of pine, grapefruit and big tropical fruit. The aroma is all hop and all big flavour! Tasting the beer it has a mid-thick body and a light creaminess to it. The flavour is a wallop of hops with an intense pine bitterness that hits the back of the palate. The grapefruit tones and tropical fruit tones are present but the bitterness of 95 IBUs takes charge and masks some of the more subtle flavours. If you are addicted to hops this is the beer for you – it packs a punch of serious west coast hop bitterness.
