Yellow Dog Brewing C0. – Chase My Tail Pale Ale Review
In the line of dog-themed naming conventions the Yellow Dog Brewing Company has a staple in their beer lineup that they call the Chase My Tail Pale Ale. Packaged in 473ml cans and sold in 4-packs this West-Coast style Pale Ale has found its way into the hearts of BC (and Port Moody more specifically) craft beer connoisseurs. From the tall-can package the Chase My Tail Pail Ale Pours as a light-amber colour with two fingers of loosely packed, lacing head. A piney-hop aroma comes from the beer with a citrus and tropical fruit like smell. The West Coast hop tones are paired with a subtle maltiness that adds balance to the package. As a mid bodied beer the Chase My Tail is both flavourful and refreshing. The distinctive pine flavour is joined with a nice tropical fruit tone which is elevated above the subtle maltiness that holds the beer up. There is a reason the the Chase My Tail Pale Ale has become a longstanding favourite of Yellow Dog brewery fans as it is one of the better balanced while still a truly BC-style Pale Ale.

Those scores are all little too low. Appearance is a 5. Stuff is impressive to look at. Taste is 4.9. Aroma is 4.2 and palate is a 4.7. Total score 4.7. In my book.
Thanks Steve, it is a great beer!
One of my two favourite BC brews, the other being Steamworks Flagship IPA
