Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks – Personas West Coast Common Review
The West Coast Common may not seem like a style but in today’s age of blending and concocting we can take a guess that the Personas is a piney-hopped California Common. From the bomber bottle the beer pours as an amber colour topped with nearly two fingers of head. As the head slowly settles it leaves a light lacing left behind on the glass. a light, northwest hop aroma wafts from the glass in a light but defined pine flavour. A subtle malt tone also comes into play. The body is surprisingly big for a California Common and a modest 5.1% alcohol rating. A flavour of crisp and bitter piney hops hits the palate with a slightly fruit tone. The beer is rather smooth, big bodied, quite hoppy and still leaves room for flavour. If this is what a West Coast Common is, bring it on BC, we are ready to see some more!
