Bad Tattoo Brewing Co. – No Walls Berliner Weisse Review
In the One World Series of beers the Penticton based Bad Tattoo Brewing has entered the session and sours scenes with the No Walls Berliner Weisse. Coming in a bomber bottle this summer refresher pours as a slightly hazy, golden-straw colour topped with a finger and a half of quickly settling head. Leaving no sign of lacing behind on the glass the No Walls smells crisp and fresh in a slightly sharp sourness to it. The wheat tones blend to make a unique and soft aroma with a kick of sour to it. The body is quite light and thin and on the first sip a strong carbonation hits the palate. With the already slightly acidic carbonation comes a fresh sour-tone reminiscent of a granny smith apple that adds a refreshing and summery attribute to the beer. As the carbonation settles so does the sour making room for a wheat and malt flavour. The second half of the flavour is more like a mellow Witbier than anything else. The contrast is unique and quite nice. The No Walls is light and refreshing and will surely be a summer hit on the Bad Tattoo patio.
