Persephone Brewing Co. – Single Hop #4 Summit Pale Ale Review
In the line of Persephone Brewing Co’s Single Hop series comes the Summit Pale Ale. This beer pours from the gold-labelled bottle similarly to the three versions prior to this one as a clear amber colour topped with two and a half fingers of slow to settle, lacing head. From this pale ale comes notes of citrus and tangerine with a defined pineyness to the aroma. A nice malt characteristic shines through as well. Tasting this single hop Pale Ale the beer has a mid body and the flavour starts off with notes of light caramel, tangerine and a mellow hop bitterness. The hop profile seems less intense than some of this beer’s older brothers but again a delicate balance of hop, malt and a nice caramel tone make for a sessionable and delicious pale ale that truly highlights the citrus, orange and light grapefruit tones found in the Summit Hop.
