Persephone Brewing Co. – Eureka Single Hop Pale Ale Review
In the single hop series of Pale Ales from Gibsons BC’s Persephone Brewing Company comes the 3rd round as a Eureka Pale Ale. This beer was brewed using exclusively Eureka Hops. As a northwest style piney hop this beer is sure to have a flavour BC beer drinkers will love. From the glossy labeled bottle the Eureka Pale Ale pours as a light amber colour with a finger and a half of thick and lacing head. From the Eureka Pale Ale comes a citrus and pine flavour that is iconic of BC-loved flavour. A smooth maltiness joins the citrus and sap-like aroma in a smooth and delicious package. The body is rather light and right off the bat a piney-citrus hop flavour hits the palate. As this big hit of flavourful hop subsides a malt character emerges in a lightly sweet way. The hop sandwich continues though as the finish is a bitter, piney hop that lingers long after the last drop. This is a truly northwest style Pale ale that brings a great balance of sessionability and flaour to the table.
