Moon Under Water Hip as Funk Farmhouse IPA ReviewMoon Under Water Brewing Co. – Hip As Funk Farmhouse IPA Review

Moon Under Water is standing up against sexism with the Hip As Funk Farmhouse IPA. This Farmhouse IPA is seemingly gold-leaf labelled in a striking image designed by Bjauna Sorensen. As a Brett IPA brewed with Pilsner Malts and heaps of hops this is a unique and surely delicious IPA. From the bottle the Hip As Funk Pours a golden colour to match the label and is topped with one finger of dense and lacing head. An aroma of tropical fruit and Brett-farmyard funk make for a delicious and inspired west-coast brett IPA aroma. The beer has a mid-body and the flavour is true to the name. Notes of mango and passion fruit are joined with a fresh citrus tone. The Brettanomyces add a complex, lightly sour, earthiness to the beer that seems to cut the hop-bitterness and add a greater depth to the character of the beer. As the flavour settles the citrus and fruit tones linger in a dry, lightly sweet finish. Despite being a pretty big IPA there is not much in the way of bitterness left behind. This is a delicious and unique Brett-IPA from Victoria BC’s Moon Under Water Brewery. Give the Hip As Funk a Try, you will probably like it!
