Fuggles & Warlock Vs Dead Frog Collaboration Hyper Combo Red Rye IPA Review
Fuggles & Warlock teamed up with Dead Frog Brewery in the Hyper Combo Red Rye IPA. This collaboration beer is “A tropical hurricane kick dry hopped with Citra, Amarillo & Galaxy hops.” In true Mortal Kombat style this beer is a match of the elite which results in a big, 8% Red Rye IPA. From the bright and explosively labeled bottle comes a beer which is copper-amber coloured and topped with two fingers of thick and heavily lacing head. The Hyper Combo smells of big fruit tones, piney hops and a light rye spice. The tropical fruit tones and citrus notes take charge on the nose in a fragrant and delicious smelling beer. The flavour is smooth ans starts out light. A Rye spice builds quickly and leads into a tropical fruit explosion as the flavour progresses. The finish is relatively bitter with rye spic, tropical fruit tones and a lingering hop bitterness. The beer does not have a boozy flavour despite the high 8% alcohol rating so this may catch up with you if you are not careful. This is a delicious beer that shows what to expect from Fuggles and Warlock!
