Bad Tattoo Brewing Co. – Los Muertos Cerveza Negra Review
Penticton BC is a hotbed of craft beer and the newest brewery in the area is Bad Tattoo. One of the iinitialhits to come from this Okanagan brewery is the Los Muertos Cerveza Negra Black Lager. This rather uniquely styled beer pours from the bomber bottle as a dark, chestnut brown colour topped with two and a half fingers of loosely packed, quickly settling head. Leaving no signs of lacing on the glass the Los Muertos smells of dried fruit, toasted malt and a kick of caramel. The beer is big on carbonation in a bubbly package. A relatively light body opens up with flavours of raisin, caramel and toasted malts. A dry finish leaves the palate with a lightly sweet, caramel tone and the remnants of dried fruit. The Los Muertos Cerveza Negra is a nice dark lager with complex flavour and a big carbonation factor. In its early days this beer has been tough to find in BC retailers but expect to find Bad Tattoo’s brews become more available in the coming months.
