Bomber Brewing Co. – Blonde Ale Review
The lighter side of Bomber Brewing’s beers comes in the form of their Blonde Ale. This lighter and more sessionable option from East Vancouver’s Bomber Brewing is a standard 5% alcohol and comes in with a fairly low 17 IBU. From the 650ml bottle this beer pours as a light, golden colour with one finger’s worth of head lining the top of the beer. From this head comes a light, malty very sessionable smelling aroma. Light lemon-citrus notes come through on the nose in a crisp and very quaffable manner. The flavour is light with malt tones coming through early on. This malty body shifts as citrus notes build along with a slight hop bitterness along side. The hops are more apparent than you may expect given the bitterness rating at a modest 17. This does not insinuate that the Bomber Blonde Ale is bitter but rather well balanced and the light body allows the subtle flavour profiles to each be identifiable while remaining a light, sessionable and very enjoyable brew.
