Shredder Golden Ale Release From Deep Cove Brewers – Supporting North Shore Rescue
Deep Cove Shredder Golden Ale Released to Support North Shore Rescue in Tim Jones’s Memory
Deep Cove Brewers & Distillers are nestled at the foot of North Vancouver’s iconic skyline. While Vancouverites look to the north as a compass in navigating the city the white-topped peaks are not so distant for some. Every year many hikers skiers, snowboarders and other back country adventurers encounter the elements, injury and ill-preparedness requiring rescue. North Shore Rescue is an organization of volunteers who without trepidation risk their lives to save others. For more than 25 years North Shore parametric legend Tim Jones led the rescue team before passing away unexpectedly on January 19, 2014.
In memory of Tim Jones and in support of North Shore Rescue the team at Deep Cove Brewers has brewed the Tim Jones “Shredder” Golden Ale. With proceeds from this limited release beer being contributed to North Shore Rescue Tim’s legacy continues to live on. The name Tim Jones echoes loudly and clearly through the minds and peaks of North Vancouver. The Shredder Golden Ale is just a small token of appreciation from Deep Cove Brewers and a means to keep the North Shore rescue able to continue making a difference in the lives of those experiencing BC’s Coastal Range.
To commemorate the launch of this charitable beer Deep Cove Brewers & Distillers hosted a release party where locals came out to support the cause. A total of 350 tickets were sold in advance where attendees were offered a glass of the newly released beer, local food truck fare and the opportunity to bid in a silent auction. The event raised even more funds for North Shore Rescue and gave a great opportunity to remember the legacy of Tim Jones. In Tim’s passing a great void was left behind but his memory shall never be forgotten.
If you would like to support the North Shore Rescue and Tim Jones’s memory you can donate to the cause here. You can also purchase the Deep Cove Shredder Golden Ale and a portion of proceeds will be donated to preserving the safety of those in our adventurous backyard.
