Dead Frog Brewery – Bucking Black Sheep Black Buckwheat IPA Review
The second Dead Frog Brewery beer to be brewed using Buckwheat is a Black IPA called the Bucking Black Sheep. This sheepishly witty beer comes from the bomber bottle as a thick, dark, nearly black colour topped with nearly two fingers of lacing head. From the Bucking Black Sheep comes a bittersweet aroma which contains hop bitterness, a touch of coffee and a floral, buckwheat nose. The flavour kicks off with a coffee and chocolate body which is relatively smooth and creamy building into a hop-bittered mid section. The Buckwheat content makes for a beer that is lighter than comaprible brews. This results is a lighter than expected, sessionable beer with big dark flavours. Contrasting weight and flavours create a delicious and well layered flavour profile in a fantastic Dead Frog Brewery Beer.
