Hoyne Brewing Co. – Entre Nous Belgian Cherry Witbier Review
The season for BC grown fruit is here and Hoyne Brewing has capitalized with the release ofr their Entre Nous, a Belgian Cherry Witbier. If the name predicts anything this is a beer to keep close and share with the ones you love. Entre Nous means “between ourselves”. This Victoria brewed beer appears a light amber colour topped with two fingers of dense, white head. The smell here is of more Wit than anything else. Belgian Witbier notes come through strong with a slight breadiness and yeast to the nose. There isn’t really much of the cherry content coming through here. The taste kicks off with a smooth and light body. The cherries give a light sweetness to the beer but it does not really have much to say. The mouth-feel and flavour are also not of a traditional Witbier but more of a Lager or California Common. the finish is light and refreshing with a slight cherry tone on the tongue. Mild hops add to the equation but leave a light and sessionable memory for the Entre Nous.
