Four Winds Brewing Co. – Phaedra Belgian Rye IPA Review
Four Winds Brewing is on a stampede with their lineup of IPAs. Next up in the Zephyrus Serues of beers is the Phaedra which is a Belgian style IPA with rye for an added kick of flaovur. This beer comes from the bottle a slightly clouded amber colour topped with two fingers of dense and lacing head. As the thick head slowly settles Belgian yeast tones, wheat, tropical fruit and a pepper spice come in on the nose in a delicious and complex aroma profile. The flavour is rather light on the tongue with a Belgian, tropical fruit flavour coming in first. As a hop bitterness grows so does the Rye spice that gives balance to the light sweetness from the fruit flavours. The Phaedra is a fantastic balance of Belgian tradition and BC brewing creativity. Wonderful flavours spanning borders and cultures and amount to a very delicious beer that everyone should have the privilege of trying!

[…] 7. Four Winds Brewing Phaedra Belgian Rye IPA […]
[…] The Four Winds Phaedra was a popular beer but not as highly recognized as some of their other releases. Despite that fact, this beer claimed the top spot in the beermebc.com review scoring at 4.825. This is a fantastic Rye IPA that is smooth, bitter and lightly spiced with notes of Rye. A fantastic rendition of the Rye IPA Style by 2015 Canadian Brewery of the year from Delta BC, Four Winds Brewing Company. Read the Phaedra Rye IPA Review […]
