Scandal Brewing Co. – 7 Wonders Victoria Falls Coffee Stout Review
Next up in the 7 wonders series of beers from Scandal Brewing is the Victoria Falls Coffee Stout. In series tradition this bottle is a resealable 750ml bottle that will surely be used by a home brewer for years to come. Opening this particular bottle the beer erupted with carbonation. Spilling around 1/5 of the bottle immediately the beer later poured with a finger and a half of quickly dispersing head that settled without a trace. Unfortunately the Victoria Falls Coffee Stout did not inspire confidence out of the gate. The colour is a reddish brown which lets a slight amount of light through but does not appear as a traditional stout would. The smell is malt forward with strong coffee tones and a slight booziness. The taste is thinner than expected with coffee tones and a slight booziness to it. The flavour is pretty good but it does not taste like you may expect for a big stout. As seems to be a growing theme with the 7 Wonders series of Scandal beers the flavours are rather nice but the Victoria Falls Coffee stout is yet again seemingly off-style.

Stout cannot taste thin, that is for sure. And the quick dissipation of the head is a sure sign of lack of malt.
