Lighthouse Brewing Co. – Road Trip Fresh-Hopped Dark Ale Review
Pack the Westie and let’s go for a trip. The lighthouse Brewing Company has arrived in the Fresh-Hop game in the Road Trip Dark Ale. This copper coloured ale pours into the glass with a single finger of thick and lacing head. The aroma of the Road Trip Dark Ale is filled with caramel, light honey and a mellow but crisp hop bitterness. The smell is definitely bitter-sweet. The flavour in this fresh hopped dark ale is quite creamy with caramel tones and toasted malts at the front. Mild toffee flavours sneak through as well before a mid-bitter hop finish builds at the end. The overall flavour of the beer is great as it is easy drinking yet rich and flavourful. The only downside is that the ‘fresh’ aspect does not truly shine as without the name one may not even realize this distinguishing factor. The beer tastes great but it does not fully embrace the delicious fresh-hop flavour potential.

Agreed. Good beer but the bit or roastyness kinda overpowers the fresh hops.
