Phillips Brewing Co. – Crookeder Tooth Barrel Age Pumpkin Ale Review
The Phillips Brewing Company has upped their pumpkin game this year with the addition of a barrel aged option. The Crookeder tooth Pumpkin Ale is barrel aged for an extra kick of flavour. This upped-anti ale pours with three fingers of head above a golden-orange coloured body. The beer smells of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon and a slight rum-barrel odour. The flavour is extremely smooth with a fair bit of sweetness. The toasted pumpkin flavour comes in a creamy and spicy package. The Barrel aged flavour comes in late building into a rum infused finish. A slight boozyness comes in as well making for a warming flavour. The Crookeder Tooth is not quite as pumpkiny as some comparable ales but the combination of spice, sweetness, mild hop and of course pumpkin this is a warming beer on a cool fall evening.

I liked it but not anywhere as much as the Crooked tooth version.
