Prohibition Brewing Co. – Lawless IPA Review

By the taste of the beer you would not guess that the Prohibition Brewing Company is a new kid on the block in the BC Craft Beer scene. From Kelowna BC, The Lawless IPA is an golden-copper coloured ale that pours with three fingers of airy head clinging to the glass. The smell coming through the head is filled with Cascadian Hops and a slight toasted note that gives a touch of sweetness to the otherwise bitter aroma. The flavour is more mild than you may expect. A balance of piney and English style hop flavours balances with the caramel sweetness to add a balance to the beer. There are not a ton of different tastes happening in this ale but simple does not mean bad. The Lawless IPA is flavourful, balanced and has depth despite its simple flavour profile. Mid-hopped, semi-sweet, this is an enjoyable beer that is definitely worth trying for any BC Craft Beer connoisseur!

I didn’t have much hope for this as it is brewed by Big Surf the budget lager company. I will have to try it.

I was pleasantly suprised by this one. Fairly traditional, decent tasting IPA. Worth giving it a chance!
