Sean Hoyne founded the Hoyne Brewing Company after leaving the position of Brewmaster at Canoe Brewpub. While Canoe does a great job at being a brewpub, Hoyne spends that same effort solely on the beer. The Hoyne philosophy seems to be do what you do really well. You will not find an endless flight of taps at this brewery but what is there is intricate, planned and extremely tasty.
The brewery and tasting room are located outside of town if a bit of an industrial area. It is a bit out of the way when you are looking for it but well worth the effort in stopping in to try a few delicious beers. BC Liquor stores have recently started carrying the Hoyne Pilsner and Pale ale which are both great brews. If you head to the brewery though you will be introduced to a hefeweizen, IPA and a dark ale; All of which are extremely tasty. The tasting room is small and bustling with people. The crowded nature of this brewery just goes to show that they are all about the beer and the locals know it. Watch for this brewery to grow immensely in the coming years
