Central City & Elysian Brewing Collaboration I5 Amarillo Ale Review

In conjunction with Joey Restaurants The Central City Brewery and Elysian Brewery teamed up to brew the I5 Amarillo Pale Ale. In addition to being on tap at all Joey Restaurants this beer can also be found in bomber bottles at select craft beer retailers. pouring a light and clear copper colour this beer is topped with two fingers of lightly packed and fairly quick to settle head. Once settled a small amount of lacing is left on the glass’s sides. The aroma is strong with Amarillo hops. A floral, and citrus scent engulfs the nose with a nice malt in the background. The flavour is fairly light and malt forward. Mild sweetness leads up to the hop flavour. Amarillo hops in this case add a great amount of flavour but very minimal bitterness to go with it. Tropical fruit tones add depth to the flavour with a citrus aspect as well. Through the hop-flavour the malts remain present though and balance out this flavourful and sessionable ale. The I5 Amarillo Ale is the perfect beer for the next time you are at a Joey restaurant or simply looking for a light, flavourful and enjoyable summer option.
