Granville Island Brewing – Ginga Ninja Ginger Beer Review

You have probably heard the radio commercials by now for the Ginger Ninja, Granville Island’s newest seasonal option giving a marketing twist on ginger beer. This particular lager pours a golden colour with two thin fingers of head. The aroma is of coriander, citrus, clove and of course, ginger. When you taste this beer it is light, smooth and easy drinking with an added kick of ginger. The ginger-ness does not hide the clove, coriander and sweetness but it is quite apparent that it is the main-stage. When the initial flavours subside the palate is left with a dry, ginger-spice finish. This beer is light and easy drinking but may be a little out there for your average craft beer drinker. A touch on the sweet side this is drinkable but you may only want one for the night.
