Stanley Park Brewery – Belgian Dark Ale Brun Review

The newest addition to the Stanley Park Brewery family of beers is the Brun. This Belgian Style Dark Ale pours a chestnut-brown colour with a full two fingers of quickly dispersing head. The aroma is of malt with subtle toasted notes that pick at the nose. The taste is light and crisp with a smoothness that is not found in the other Stanley Park beers. The texture is smooth and almost creamy which makes the toasted notes pop along side a mild fruit-like sweetness that completes the package. This beer is not daring compared to the other winter seasonal options out there but it is tasty, easy drinking and hard to really find fault in. Overall this is a decent option for a tame dark ale.
